Matchbox - Rhino Rod - Rhinoceros Car

This is the Rhino Rod from Matchbox. Released more than a decade ago in 1998, it’s been a number of years since we’ve had one of these in stock, as they always sell out each time we get them.

Collectors Note: When they first came out, they were part of a group of “Animal Cars” that included a bumble Bee and a RotWheiler, and they caused quite a stir amongst Matchbox Collecting purists. They we seen as the beginning of the end of Matchbox, because they feared more of these Hot Wheels like fantasy cars. As it turns out, the outcry was heard, and MB didn’t produce any more of these. Since most of them went to kids, and not collectors, they are now getting harder and harder to find, particularly in their original packaging.

Colletors Note: There are two variations of this color Rhino Rod. One has white eyes, this one has yellow eyes.
