The story as it was explained to us is that the HW 2020 Tokyo Olympics vehicles were already in production, and being shipped when the Olympic Committee postponed the games. They could not stop the release of these. They will likely become very collectible to both Hot Wheels and Olympic memorabilia collectors because the games never took place.
