First Editions / New Models

Hot Wheels First Editions were done to celebrate the release of a new casting. The had their own special blistercard with the First Edition designation. Many First Edition castings were released in different colors. The casting remained a "First Edition" for it's first year of production. Recently Mattel changed the First Edition designation to "New Model for (year)". These also have distintive blistercards with the New Model designation. These are also being made in different colors during the first year of the casting.
