Corgi - D-Day 50th Anniversary Commemorative Set

This is a stunning set from Corgi, that was released on the 50th Anniversary of D-Day. They have chosen a wonderful selection of British vehicles, after all Corgi is a British firm!

The set includes:

Southampton Open Top Tram: These were used to transport troops to and from Shirley Depot. The tram company painted these military service trams dull gray to make them as inconsicuous as possible.

Morris J RAF Recruiting Van: This is a great example of the Morris Vans that the RAF used as mobile recruiting offices throughout Britian. 

Ford Pop 103E Royal Navy Staff Car: To the best of our knowledge Corgi is the only diecast firm to every release a Ford Pop 103E in any scale. This is a wonderful car, and they were used by the RN to help in the war effort as staff cars.

Bedford "O" Van Army Stores Van: This is a very unique piece. Although it's a British Bedford Truck, the White Star indicates this was used as an American Army, then Allies symbole to pilots that it was a friendly truck. These were used to transport Heavy Goods/ Ammo Truck.
