Matchbox 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop

This is a beautiful 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop from Matchbox. Released 20+  years ago in 1999, this was the first edition of this model.

Collectors Note: This casting is one of the mysteries of Matchbox Collecting. It is a very nicely detailed casting of one of the most iconic cars ever produced. Every diecast firm has done a 55 Bel Air hardtop in just about every scale, and they do dozens of color variations of each one.

Yet for some reason this is one of the least produced castings from MB, with only 11 variations ever made. We are really at a loss as to why this beautiful casting was not used much more often??? The upside, is that makes these Bel Airs VERY collectible!

It is a great cross-collectible, so if you collect Matchbox, Chevrolet, or Tri-Chevys this will be a wonderful addition to your collection. (1:64 Scale)
