TootsieToy: No 1018 Jumbo Sedan (Transitional)

We have recently acquired a significant collection of TootsieToys with some of their most important pieces, from the estate of a prominent collector who kept these in remarkable condition. This is the 6" #1081 Jumbo Sedan. This has some minor playwear, but is still retains 99% of it's paint. It is in beautiful condition having been released 68 years ago in 1942!  The Jumbo Sedan appeared in this color on the older body style from 1936-1941. In 1942 they closed the front wheels in, and they only ran a handful of these cars with the older model light green paint. They then switched to two tone paint schemes on this model for 1942. This is one of the early transition models that got the green paint scheme of the older body style.  This is one of those rare TootsieToys that you normally only hear about, or see in a book, it is not often they become available for sale on the collector market.
